The MSL (Mission Specialist Life Sciences) crew member injured her foot when she was coming down the Hab steps from the crew room. Her foot was wrapped up with a cold compress and elevated. She was given 2 Panadol and a comfortable lying position. She reported that she was cold and so a blanket was given to her to use.

She was taken to hospital and her foot was strapped. The flight surgeon contacted gave medical advice for the injury and recommended that she be taken to hospital and her foot/ankle be x-rayed.

The outcome is a sprained ankle (not broken) which needs to remain strapped for the next 2 weeks. No further treatment is required apart from some light physiotherapy on it.
