1a) Today was

- a cooking day

- the first day of the food study (defined meal)

1b) Was today a special day celebrated at the main meal with special food or activity?

Even though it was ANZAC day in N.Z and Australia today the crew didn’t observe this. Some of the crew mentioned this earlier in the day when dawn services were being run.

2)  List the foods served at today's main meal (usually the evening meal), giving full names of each.

Vegetable paella with rehydrated vegetables

3) List any main meal foods not finished by the crew (leftovers stored for later use or discarded)

All food finished. Some is left over for tomorrow. Enjoyed by all.

4)  Recipes for anything more complicated than following package directions exactly, or rehydrating.

Cooked the veggies with olive oil and herbs. Then 3 stock cubes were added and rice next. This was cooked for about 1 hour and then simmered for 1 hour.

5)  Lessons learned  (if any)

Cook rice and vegetables separately. The consistency of the food was quite stodgy.

6) Comments/questions for Kim and Jean, the food study investigators

Do they have any dehydrated meat? (there doesn’t appear to be any)

Is the beef fish actually beef or fish?

ENDS.
