Incorporated Research Institutions for Seismology (IRIS) have produced some powerpoint and PDF presentations, posters and animations for educators to help teach students about the Christchurch earthquakes. These resources allow educators to customise the information for their classes.
IRIS produces a set of resources called 'Teachable Moments' for earthquake greater than approximately magnitude 7.0 from around the world. They have published presentations for both the 4 September 2010 and 21 February 2011 earthquakes.
Whilst not strictly space-related, we thought these resources may be useful for New Zealand educators explaining the earthquake.
