Tuesday 12th April, 2011 - the 50th anniversary of human spaceflight, and 30th anniversary of the first space shuttle launch - marked the official incorporation of KiwiSpace Foundation as a charitable trust (society-based).

KiwiSpace celebrated the 50th anniversary by holding two premiere screenings of the new movie [First Orbit|FIRSTORBIT:] at the Stardome in Auckland, and Carter Observatory in Wellington, and the launch of a high-altitude helium balloon, which returned stunning photos from the [Edge of Space|EOS:].
