Mission Controllers, Astronauts and Flight Dynamics:

Getting to Mars, Venus and Comet 67P/Churyumov–Gerasimenko 


M. Jean-François Kaufeler will talk about all aspects of getting a rocket into space. The talks are aimed at exciting students about science, mathematics and engineering and will be set at the level suitable for the audience. In particular M. Kaufeler will talk about the Venus Express space probe and the Rosetta mission to land on a comet next year. He will include personal anecdotes about managing space missions.



M. Kaufeler graduated from L'Ecole Supérieure d'Electricité (Paris) in 1969, specialising in Information Technology and in 1974 he joined European Space Agency’s Operations Centre (ESOC) in Darmstadt where he worked in the field of ground systems for space missions.
